â¦Several hours later
Jude yawned, then smiled when his gaze fell on the figure next to him on the bed. It wasnât a dream. The love of his life was really there.
âHey.â He nudged her. âHey, Iris⦠baby, wake up.â He yawned again and stretched, their naked bodies under a ton of black and red silk sheets. The woman batted her eyes, then rubbed them and sat up.
âWhat? Something wrong?â She looked at the clock on the nightstand with narrowed eyes. âItâs like five in the morninâ.â
âYeah⦠I know. You gotta go.â He got up, grabbed some jogging pants, and pulled them on. When he turned around, he caught her perturbed and confused expression.
âI gotta go? Why?â
ââCause I said so. Thatâs why.â He yawned again, then stretched once more for good measure.
âHuh? What tha fuck you mean, I gotta go, and you said so, thatâs why? Iâm not on this bullshit, Jude.â
The she-devil has entered the chatâ¦
âI mean what the fuck I said. You gotta go, Iris. I got shit to do. Donât worry, Iâll give you some money for a bus. Youâll probably have to take a couple of them though.â
âWhat?! Mothafucka, who you thank you talkinâ to? I donât know what type of women youâre used to, but you canât treat me like this, and you damn sure canât talk to me like that, Jude! You done lost yoâ damn mind! I donât give a flyinâ squirrel piece of nutty shit how important you think you are in them damn streets and sheets. You just a White boy with a big mouth, big ego, and big dick right about now. You uh dime a dozen!â
âYou werenât sayinâ that a little while ago when you were screaminâ my name, leavinâ scratches all over my body, and practically convulsing as I blew your damn back out in this bedâ¦â He casually lit a cigarette and took a drag.
âI can love somebody and never call they ass again! I ainât begginâ no man for shit. You betta ask somebody!â
ââ¦And just who should I ask? Do you have some references?â
âJudeâ¦â She shook her head and waved her finger about. âYouâre takinâ me out of character. You must not know about me, you raggedy son of a bitch.â She pointed to her chest, going the hell off, and it took everything within him to not burst out laughing. He had no idea she had this in her, though it didnât completely surprise him. Passionate women could be hotheads. It just came with the territory. Iris was a fireball. Explosive like a motherfucker.
âYou know you wanted it, baby.â He winked at her, and smiled.
âLet me jog yoâ memory in that little ass brain of yours. You called me over here in the middle of the night! Not the other way around. I was just fine at home, mindinâ the business that pays me, child-free for the night, and then because you want to shoot one off, you send for me like some chick whose number is written on a bathroom wall.
